1. Halloween Party
Remember our Halloween party will be Monday from lunch until the end of the day. Please bring your party food by 11:45 at the latest and feel free to join us!

2. Student Showcase
Our Student Showcase will be THIS Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. Please make plans to attend and see a sampling of our students’ work.

3. Report Cards
Our snow days have made it a bit more challenging to collect and compile all the grades for this past quarter. So, we will do our very best to get them in your boxes, as planned, by Tuesday before our Student Showcase or as soon thereafter as possible.

4. Parent Teacher Conferences
Please schedule your parent teacher conferences as soon as possible. Teachers will be available on Thursday, November 5 from 5:30-7:30. Remember that you may schedule a conference with any teacher you may wish to speak with. However, parents of students with a “C” or below in any class will have to schedule a mandatory conference with the appropriate teacher.

5. Open House
Our next Open House will be Tuesday, November 10th at 7:00 p.m., followed by one on Saturday, November 14th at 10:00 a.m. Please encourage any interested families to come visit with us then.

6. Scrip Program
As mentioned in our last “Owl,” our Scrip Program is up and running and the order forms are available at the front desk. However, I’ve attached the order form in PDF format for your convenience along with a letter from Meg Schenk. Please take advantage of this program since it is a great fundraiser for the school and it does not cost any of us any additional money. Meg took the time to edit the list to include retailers available in our area. However, that list can be modified so if there are any other retailers you would like to include, please let us know.

Thank you, Meg, for getting this program up and running for us!

7. Lego League Competition
Our FIRST Lego League competition is Saturday, November 14th. It would be great to see a large support group for our Lego League team. So, if you can carve out some time that Saturday, please mark your calendars and head off to Colorado Springs with us to cheer for our team!

8. Thanksgiving Break
Remember our Thanksgiving Break is from Wednesday, November 25th through Friday, November 27th. Enjoy!

9. Box Tops / Labels for Education
Thanks to Diana Shilling, our Labels for Education and Box Tops program is also up and running again! So, please start bringing in your Labels for Education and Box Tops to the front office.

10. Lunch Menu
This week’s menu is as follows:
Monday: Party
Tuesday: South Garden Chinese Restaurant
Wednesday: Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant

1. PTO Party
A special thanks to Doren Day, Shar Jordan, Diane and Bill Henry and all others who made the party possible and to all those who attended. We know there was a more serious part of our get together but hopefully some of you got to know each other a little better. Party/ meeting minutes will be sent out this week.

2. Oktoberfest at the Grange
Thanks to those of you who joined the festivities with Mrs. Hartz during Oktoberfest at the Grange last week. It sound like it was a great time had by all!

3. Oktoberfest at Castle Pines and Castle Rock
Thanks to the Henry’s, the Kyte’s, the Lordi’s, the Rohl’s and Haley Jordan for helping us work our Oktoberfest booths in Castle Rock and Castle Pines. We had a number of visitors interested in our school and hope to see a number of them at our upcoming Open Houses.

4. Open House
Our next Open House is THIS Tuesday, October 13th at 7 p.m. Please remind anyone you know that may be interested in attending Woodlands.

5. Woodlands Academy information cards
You should have found an envelope in your boxes this week with 10 Woodlands Academy Information Cards. These are like the ones we just mailed out to 1200 families in Castle Rock and surrounding areas. We would love to see them in as many bulletin boards around town as possible. Note that the back side has our open house information so you may want to put one facing the front and one facing the back whenever possible. Thank you!

6. Castle Rock Radio
A special thanks to John Rohl and Castle Rock Radio for speaking about our school on the “Heart Burn Show” this past Thursday. It should be in their archives soon. Advertising such as this is imperative for our school, as many people in the area STILL don’t know about us. Thanks, John!

7. Scrip Program
Meg Schenk has been busy trying to get our Scrip Program together and it should be ready to launch this week! This should be a great fundraiser for Woodlands and it does not cost any of us any money. We’ll have more details this week.

8. Fall Break
Remember Fall Break is next week.

9. End of Quarter
Our first quarter ends this week, so for those of you students that have outstanding homework, please turn it in this week. Otherwise, it will be considered LATE.

10. Lunch Menu
This week’s menu is as follows:
Monday: Jett’s Catering
Tuesday: Castle Rock BBQ (Tex-Mex)
Wednesday: Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant
Thursday: Troncalli’s Trattoria (Italian)
Friday: Domino’s Pizza

Thank you
