2. Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours – THANK YOU!!!
In our continued efforts to promote Woodlands, we hosted our first Business After Hours for the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, January 20. The event brought in about 120 business owners and members of the community to network at Woodlands. The Chamber called the following day and told us it was one of the best events they have had. Although we may not yet know what impact this event will have on Woodlands, Terry Martin was able to give a brief presentation about the school and people seemed interested and impressed.
We would like to thank all of you who helped us with this event, either monetarily or with your time and hard work before, during and after the event. We truly could not have done this without you!
3. PTO Meeting
Our next PTO Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 5 p.m. Please try to attend.
4. Play DVD – For sale!
We have several copies of the school play, “Who Threw the Overalls in Mrs. Murphy’s Chowder” for sale. Please come to the front office to get your copy! They are only $5.00 each.

For more details, please look for the permission slips in your boxes this week.
7. Tuition Payment #7
Just a friendly reminder that tuition payment # 7 is due by Thursday, January 28th.
8. Scrip Program
We would like to thank all of you who have participated in our Scrip Program. For those of you who have not ordered, we hope you can participate in the near future. Basically, all you need to do is order gift cards and use them as cash with any of the participating vendors. You can even buy Visa cards and use them anywhere you want. You purchase the cards at no additional cost to you and we receive a percentage of every order from the vendor. Some vendors are very generous and offer a greater percentage than others but every order helps. Please swing by the office, call or e-mail us if you have any questions regarding the program. You place your order by TOMORROW TUESDAY and receive your cards by Friday.
If every family placed a $600 order per month or $150 per week, at an average of 5% return, that would make up for one additional student attending Woodlands! Remember that this is a fundraiser for us. So, please try to participate in this program, not just for your big projects and purchases but for your everyday ones as well.
*****You are also welcome to involve other family members and have them order their gift cards through us.
9. The Colorado Symphony
Mrs. Dottie Bass is planning our annual trip to the symphony for Friday, April 30. We need to give them a number of tickets we will need by the end of this week. If you have any interest in going as a chaperone, please let us know ASAP.

So, please invite them! Remember that we have 140 seats to sell in order to cover our expenses for the theater rental, costumes and props. Student tickets are $6.00, adult tickets are $8.00
3. Scrip Program - LAST ORDER OF THE YEAR!!!!
Monday’s order will be the last order we place before the holidays. If you place an order this Monday, you will receive your gift cards by Friday, December 18th. Any orders we receive after Monday, will not be processed until we get back from our Winter Break.
If you have any questions regarding the program or if there are any vendors you would like to purchase a card from but do not see it on the list, just let us know. Please find the attached the most current form. We’ll be happy to check on any other unlisted vendors. Make sure your order is in by Monday at the end of the school day in order to receive your gift cards by Friday.
*****You are also welcome to involve other family members and have them order their gift cards through us. We have a quick turn around and it does not cost you any more money to order the cards from us than if you bought them at a store. If every family placed a $600 order per month or $150 per week, at an average of 5% return, that would make up for one additional student attending Woodlands. So, please remember that this is a fundraiser for us and that every order counts. Thank you.
4. Enrollment Incentive - Reminder
Woodlands Academy is offering an incentive to realtors in the community as a way of getting our name in front of new residents. For every family who has a student enroll in Woodlands Academy that is referred to us by a realtor, the realtor will receive $250. WE have notified the Keller Williams office that is in the same complex as the library- including over 30 realtors and The Dean Gary Team. If you know any realtors who would be interested in participating, please have them contact Dolores for specific information. They will need to be certain the client puts their name on the initial enrollment forms. In addition to this, we are extending the same offer to Woodlands Academy families. For every family you bring in who enrolls in school this year, you will receive a $250 credit towards your fees.
5. 2nd Annual Donation and Exchange Holiday Event
Our 2nd Annual Donation and Exchange Holiday Event went well. Thanks to all of you who participated and to Mrs. Beth Moreau for coordinating this event again! The remaining items will be donated to charity this week.
6. Holiday Concert
We would like to thank all of our wonderful students at Woodlands and Mrs. Dottie Bass for the great performance they delighted us with Friday evening. Those months of practicing finally paid off! We would also like to thank the Church of Pentecost for letting use their facility for this event. It was a great time had by all.
7. Open Houses
Despite the cold weather, both of our Open Houses went very well. Most of the interest, however, is for next year’s enrollment. If you know of any families that would be interested in joining this year, please encourage them to come to our next Open Houses or simply to contact us at their convenience. We would be happy to meet with prospective families anytime. Our next Open Houses will be Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.
8. Lunch Menu
