1. Shakespeare Festival
Please remember that students should remain in school on Monday, the whole day if at all possible, until the Festival begins so they can alter any final details in their costumes and do hair and makeup. We would like to feed our starving actors some dinner. So, if any of you would like to bring in some goodies around 5:00 on Monday, we would greatly appreciate it. Additionally, since we are borrowing many of our costumes from the Douglas County High School Drama Department, we would like to take up a small donation for them as a thank you for entrusting us with their costumes.
2. Drama
Mrs. Bertsch and Mr. Nalls will hold a Drama meeting on Tuesday, February 24th right after school until 4:30. The meeting is to measure the student interest in our Spring play. The selection of the play itself will depend on the students willing and able to practice and perform. Students must be available to practice every Tuesday and Wednesday until 5 p.m. The play will be Thursday, May 7th, with (mandatory) dress rehearsals on May 5th and 6th.
3. 7 Everyday Hero Award
Our dear Mr. Nalls received the 7 Everyday Hero Award this past Wednesday! We had to keep it a surprise until the end, since we feared if he had any idea of what was happening, he may not have shown up that day. He was overwhelmed but made it through the experience. The piece will air on Channel 7 on:
Sunday, 3.8.09 at 10 p.m.
Monday, 3.9.09 at 5 a.m.
Thursday, 3.12.09 at 11 a.m.
Friday, 3.13.09 at 4 p.m.
Saturday 3.14.09 at 5 p.m.
Sunday 3.15.09 at 7 a.m.
Thanks to all of you who nominated him. He may not agree, but we definitely think he deserved this award!
4. A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Please remember our outing to the Colorado Ballet on February 27th from 9 a.m. -2 p.m. Remember all attendees will have to take a disposable lunch.
5. Intermediate Spanish
In order to better serve our students, the Intermediate Spanish class will be divided in half, beginning Tuesday, February 24th.
6. Ski Trip
Our annual ski trip to Copper Mountain has been tentatively planned for either the first or second Friday after our Spring Break. This would make it either April 3rd or April 10th. It is a family trip where we strongly encourage all interested students to attend with their parents and siblings. School will be closed that day.
7. Survey
Please remember to fill out our survey by today so that we may better serve your needs.
8. Karate
Due to the Shakespeare Festival on Monday, Karate classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday from 5-6 p.m. Mrs. Martin will be available to teach Karate on Friday from 3-4 p.m. ONLY if anybody is interested. Please let her know. Additionally, Alaric Rohl will be competing this weekend in the USKA Colorado State Championship in Eagle, Colorado. He will be competing in the 10-11 yr old Intermediate Division. He currently holds the state title in this division! Phillip Henderson, also a Woodlands Academy Karate student, will be competing in the 15 yr. old Intermediate Division. We wish them both good luck!
Thank you for all that you do for us!!!
We hope you have a great weekend.
