1. Spring Break

We hope you enjoy your Spring Break!

2. Ski Trip

Our annual ski trip to Copper Mountain will be Friday, April 3rd. School will be closed. This is a family trip, siblings are invited, but parents are responsible for their kids. We will meet at the Central Base Village at 8:45 a.m. Please leave cell phone numbers with the office. We’ll give you our numbers in case people are late or get separated. We’ll meet for lunch at the mid-mountain restaurant. (Time to be decided.) There is NO school for those of you who do not want to attend. However, the reason we take the time to go skiing is for the sake of taking time to do something fun with our families and friends. Therefore, if you choose not to go skiing with us, we encourage you to enjoy your day off with your family. Please let us know if you plan on attending so that we may look for you and make sure you got there safely.

3. End of Third Quarter - Report Cards

March 20th marks the end of our third quarter. Report Cards will come out the week of April 6th.

We have moved our “Student Showcase” to Thursday, April 16th at 7:00 p.m. Please plan on attending. Student’s work will be on display.

6. Open House

Our next Open House will be April 23rd at 7:00 p.m. Please encourage anyone interested in attending Woodlands to come to this Open House.

7. Colorado Symphony Orchestra

Mrs. Bass is planning our annual trip to attend the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. We have it tentatively planned for Tuesday, April 28th or Thursday, April 30. We’ll keep you posted as we get the final word from the Symphony.

8. An Evening of Theater at Woodlands

“An Evening of Theater at Woodlands” will be on Thursday, May 7th. The Drama team will be doing “It’s Bigfoot,” followed by Method Acting’s “3 x8 Scenes From The Workshop - Bonus Production!” Please plan to attend.

9. Snack Box

We are still short on money for the last two boxes of snacks and again, we have several I.O.U’s, some with names and dates, some without. Please help us with this matter. Thank you.

10. Spiritwear

Our second order of spiritwear wil be ready for pick up as soon as we get back from Spring Break. (It will be shipped to us this week.)

1. Middle School Field Trip
The middle school fieldtrip to the American Mountaineering Museum and the National Earthquake Information Center went very well. We all had a great time. Please ask your students about the map exhibit and what to do in case of an earthquake. We would like to thank Mrs. Laura Lovett and Mr. Rick Bertsch for helping us with the driving and chaperoning.

If you did not send the $3 admission fee for the Mountaineering Museum with your student, please do so this week. Thank you.

(The Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum was closed for Spring Break and unfortunately failed to make arrangements for our reservation.)

2. Spirit Week
Please remember Spirit Week is this coming week, starting Monday, March 16th. The schedule is as follows:
Monday: Hat/ Crazy Hair Day
Tuesday: St. Patrick’s Day / School Color Day (green)
Wednesday: Inside-out Day
Thursday: Sports Day
Friday: Pajama Day
****Our regular dress code applies if you choose NOT to participate in Spirit Week “dress up.”

3. Spring Break
Our Spring Break is from March 23rd-27th.

4. Ski Trip

6. End of Third Quarter - Report Cards
March 20th marks the end of our third quarter. Report Cards will come out the week of April 6th.

7. Snack Box
As some of you may know, we have a snack box in the office. The proceeds go to charity (Mount Saint Vincent). However, we are always short on money paid and full of I.O.U.’s with no name on them. Out of 62+ dollars per box, we were $40 short on our last box and are another $40 short in our current box. Some people said they would pay their overdue amounts for the last box, but they still have not. Please encourage your students to pay for what they’ve consumed. If we pay for what we’ve consumed, we will receive a better selection of snacks. If we are short again, we will have to remove the snack box. L

Thank you and have a great weekend!

Our Open House this past Thursday went very well. Five families showed up and are very interested - some still for this year but most for next year. Thanks, additionally to Jim and Trisha and to Diane and Bill Henry who have continued to help us in our marketing efforts which have proven very fruitful. Our next Open House will be in mid to late April. We will keep you posted.

9. Dress Code
A friendly reminder, we do have and enforce our dress code. Some students have been “pushing the limits” on this. Parents, please do all that you can to have your child meet our standards. They are in your Student Handbook. Students cannot wear jeans other than on Fridays. Sweat pants and athletic shorts are also allowed on Fridays – ONLY. Students are not allowed to wear sports shirts of any kind any day of the week. This falls under the “no writing on clothing.”

10. Cleaning Fee
A friendly reminder… Some of you are still not including your monthly cleaning fee with your tuition payments. It was set since December, to cover professional cleaning once a week from December through May. It is $60 total, per student. You can include $10 per tuition payment per student or pay it all at once. Please help us in this matter so we don’t have to come in over the weekend to scrub toilets. J

Thank you and have a great weekend!
